Jeans - Mix and match your denim with a sweatshirt and sneakers for a more casual look or pair with a t-shirt and blazer or bomber jacket and flats for a more professional look.
Sneakers - A good pair of sneakers is a must have for spring. They are so versatile, you can pair them with jeans, your favorite athletic look and you can even dress down a dress with the right pair of sneakers.
White tee for layering - If you need anything for spring its a white tee, pair it with jeans, sneakers and top it off with your favorite bomber jacket or trench coat for a classy casual look. Dress it up with a pair of trousers and a blazer and flats for a more business casual look.
Bomber jacket - We love a good bomber jacket for spring, layer it over a jeans and t-shirt outfit or over a dress. Plus they look so cool
Blazer - A blazer is so versatile. They are comfortable and they can dress up any outfit. Pair it over jeans and a t-shirt or blouse for an office look or put it over a dress that needs a little extra layer for the season.
Everyday tote - We love all bags but a good everyday tote is a must have in our opinion. You can take all your needs for the day with you. I find the bigger they are the more I take with me.
Everyday accessories - We love a good variety of accessories but having a go to that is easy to wear and matches everything is a must have in our opinion. These hoops are big enough to make a statement but light enough for everyday wear.
Flats - A good pair of flats or loafers can be worn so many ways. Pair them with jeans, a t-shirt, and a blazer for an office look. Wear them with a dress for a comfortable date night look.
Sweatshirt - A crewneck sweatshirt is perfect for those chilly morning and evenings. layer it over your tee if you will be warmer during the day or wear it as your top. Bonus points if it ha a cute graphic and makes a statement.
Dress - Everyone needs a little black dress in their wardrobe no matter the season. You can dress it down with a cute pair of sneakers and a bomber jacket or dress it up with heels and a blazer. Achieve a more professional look by wearing it with a trench coat and flats.

Now that we have figured out if its a closet problem and how to solve them here are a few easy and versatile outfit ideas to keep in mind when getting ready from your closet or shopping for one you love.
1)Don't overlook a basic tee and pair of jeans. Layer a basic tee and jeans with any cool jacket or add a belt and be amazed how the look changes instantly. Even just changing your basic jeans for black and swapping out shoes can instantly change the look.
2) A chambray shirt with black or colored jeans. Play around with accessories like a belt or necklace to change up the look even more.
3.) Your favorite oversized sweater or tee. You can change the look of these with so many simple tweaks. If its oversized tuck the front of it into the bottom of your bra for a more cropped look and be amazed at how it changes the whole look of the sweater.
4.) Playing with layers it what will make your outfit unique and interesting. Combine textures, shades, prints and different shapes. Layer a flannel under a sweater. Put a blouse under your dress. Add a denim jacket to your summer dress. Wear a chunky cardigan over a crop top or wear a cardigan as a top. Button all but the bottom three buttons and then switch the button holes on the bottom two for a cute cropped look.
5.) Skirt and a t shirt. You can dress this up or down and get away with a more bold skirt by pairing it with a basic tee. Pair it with heels and layer a jacket for a night out look or pair it with your favorite pair of flats or sneakers for a daytime look.
6.) Belts! Tuck your shirt in or wear a bodysuit with your favorite pair of jeans. Belt a blazer or a dress at the waist for an instantly different look.

Less waste, same holiday cheer
Shopping sustainably will save you money, time and waste. Big items are already assembled saving you the time of putting them together and the waste of the packaging they would come in.
If you have kids this teaches them to shop smartly and sustainably over consumerism. A fun way to get them involved is to have them decorate paper bags for wrapping paper or select comics from papers to wrap items in.
Shop small and support the economy.
Shopping small and local business directly supports your local economy. These business provide jobs and opportunities and put money directly back into your community. A great way to make this easier is to plan ahead who you are shopping for and check these businesses before you purchase from a big company. Many now offer shipping or free local pickup if you prefer to do your shopping online. This will also be a more low key shopping experience than the rush of a big store over the holiday season.
Where to shop sustainably for the holidays :
Shop your local farmers market. Bonus the food is usually more fresh and you support a family from your community. Also the farmers market experience is a fun one.
Shop your local small business. Your local boutiques are a great place to find unique gifts. They are also a great place to purchase gift certificates or cards if your prefer who you are shopping for the experience the local shopping for themselves.
Shop online marketplaces. Most of the shops and boutiques online are small and locally owned. If you prefer to do your shopping online you can still shop small.
Craft fairs are a great place to find handmade gifts and decorations for your family. They also support the local economy and artisans directly. You also may stumble across the perfect gift you didn't know you needed for someone.
Sustainable gift ideas for the holidays :
Plants and flowers make a great gift for that person in your life with a green thumb. They are something that can be enjoyed for a long time.
Homemade treats are a great idea for any holiday parties you are invited too. Not one to make them yourself? Your local small bakeries and farmers markets have so many delicious options.
Gift a service instead of a gift to open. This can be a spa day, a vehicle upgrade, a concert, a dinner, a subscription, or a fun experience. Keep in mind who you are purchasing for and what they would enjoy. Most of these purchases can be made directly online so you do not even need to leave the comfort of your couch. Put the details in a card to give them something physical to open.
Shop resale for better brands. This is a great way to give someone big ticket items without a big ticket price and discover unique and hard to find items. Be sure to purchase from reputable resellers when dealing with designer items to ensure you get the real deal.

]]>Where have these been my whole life?! I recently discovered these when there were no tide pens to be found and in my opinion they are far superior! Anything from that coffee spill to a foundation smudge they work really well on most fabrics. These are a must have for me.
That favorite sweater looking a little shaggier than it used to? If you don't have a fabric shaver you can use a razor you have on hand. Gently shave the pills. Just be careful not to go to hard or you will cut a hole in the sweater.
You know when you are feeling your outfit and you accidentally get deodorant stains on it? No worries, just grab a dryer sheet and wipe them off. Bonus it smells good too. The dryer sheet can also double as an impromptu lint roller if you don't have access to one. Just make it slightly damp.
Make sure you sit down when trying on new clothing you plan to purchase. They fit differently from standing to sitting and I think we have all been there where we can hardly stand the pants buttoned when we sit.
You can work this to your advantage if you want to look shorter or wear a more monochromatic look to appear taller.
Adjust your jeans to tighten them by looping a hair tie around the button and through a belt loop and fold back over the button. Or if you need to make them looser loop it around the button, through the button hole, and back over the button. Just make sure your shirt is long enough to cover this.
Do you have a piece of clothing just sitting in your closet that you don't know how to style? Say its a white button down search pinterest for white button down shirt outfits for some inspiration to get use out of items you already own.
Run in your stockings? Put clear nail polish over it to stop it from getting worse.
A quick way to refresh your clothing and get wrinkles out is to spray them with a bottle of water with a splash of fabric softener. This doubles by making them smell fresh and getting wrinkles out in a hurry.
These erasers truly are magic. I use so many of these. They are great for keeping white sneakers looking fresh and for the white part around the bottom of the shoes.
I think we have all had a moment where we got stuck in a zipper. No need to panic. Use a bar of soap and rub it on it to unstick the zipper.
If you need to dewrinkle your clothing in a hurry throw it in the dryer with a few ice cubes! The ice and heat creates steam. Toss it in while you do your hair and makeup and your clothing can come out fresh looking and ready to go.
I cannot stress this enough! It will make getting dressed so much easier and you will know what clothing you actually own. If you have styles you don't wear anymore sort them out by what you can consign and what needs to be repurposed.
While its always a cute look to have a monochromatic outfit including your purse that's not necessary to look pulled together. Match your purse to your belt or shoes for a polished look.
Hopefully a few of these tips help you out! What are your favorite fashion hacks? I would love to hear. Drop a comment below.

As a teacher you have enough on your plate this time of year. I did the work of rounding up a weeks worth of back to school outfit ideas for you because one less thing to think about is always great.
Monday:
These Pilcro and The Letterpress patchwork pants are to cute and comfortable enough for you to wear even if you are chasing young students. This sweater is lightweight enough to wear for the beginning of fall. Just add a layer underneath to wear it through winter. Top this outfit off with these Sperry Top Sider sneakers and you are good to go.
Tuesday:
You can't go wrong with a sweater dress for those cold air conditioned rooms and the winter months. This one offers cuteness and comfort and I love the fact that the waist can tighten as much as you want it too. Pair it with these Donald J Pliner loafers for a fashionable but still functionable look.
Wednesday :
This top and blazer combo is perfect for while its still hot out. Wear the blazer indoors in the cooler air and you can take it off when it comes time to take the kids out to recess. I know dress codes vary so if chambray pants are not in yours these could easily be substituted for a pair of khaki or navy pants. Finish off the look with these Dr. Scholls loafers. Nothing beats shoes that do not make your feet hurt.
Thursday:
Who doesn't love the comfort of a maxi skirt. We love this one paired with this red jacket. Again you could wear a shirt with sleeves under this to layer for different temperatures. Finish this outfit off with these Naot clogs and you are ready to tackle your day.
Friday:
This outfit is perfect for casual Friday. If that doesn't fit into your dress code you can switch the pants out for a tapered more business casual fit and throw on a denim jacket or blazer to dress it up a bit. These Ariat boots are so comfortable and are versatile enough to wear with pants or dresses.
Hopefully this gives you some inspiration for those mornings where you don't know what to wear. All of these items are available for sale on our website or shop your own closet to put your spin on it. Which style is your favorite? Drop a comment, I would love to hear.

This fashion trend is bright pink and vibrantly happy. With the Barbie movie coming out next year this trend is on the rise. When you imagine Barbie you probably picture all things pink and feminine and that's exactly what this trend is about.
How to wear Barbie core?
Trends come and often go as quickly as they arrive. I am going to show you some ways to wear this trend from just dipping your toes in to jumping all in without breaking the bank. I believe in splurging on classics not trends because they just don't last long enough to make the splurge worth your money.
Dip Your Toes In :
If you want to try out this trend but aren't ready to commit fully a good way to do that is to opt for some light pinks and forgo the all over pink outfit. This Vineyard Vines skirt paired with a light top and is super feminine without being over the top.
Back to School :
On Wednesday's we wear pink... Or in this case whenever we feel like it. These Lume leggings have the cutest thigh pocket on them. Wear them with an oversized tee or hoodie depending on the temperature.
Work Wear :
This trend can be a fun way to spice up your normal office wear. Pair bright pink pants with a shirt for a polished but fun professional look.
Barbie Babe :
You are one outfit change away from living in your own Barbie world. This bodycon dress paired with this Coach scarf and sneakers is all things pink and girly.
What are your thoughts on this trend? If you would wear it how would you style it? Leave a comment below, I would love to hear.
]]>I rounded up some of my go to for outings with and without the kids.
Call me a hot mess, but never a fashion disaster.
Errands :
A band tee and your favorite leggings can instantly give you that cool mom factor while being totally functional for all you need to get done in your day.
Playdate/ Sporting Events :
We want to look our best while out with our fellow mom squad and be able to keep up with our littles. A lot of playdates and sporting events happen at a park or venue where there is quite a bit of activity. One time my daughter hid at the top of an indoor playground and I had to climb up and bring her down. Let me tell you I was very happy to not be in a dress at that moment! Your favorite jeans and a tee layered with a flannel shirt or shacket is a perfect and functional playdate look.
Graduation/ Concert:
While these events are a fun opportunity to dress up a bit more there is still usually a lot of logistics that go into getting your little star where they need to be. A dress and comfortable heels go a long way. I find that a lower or block heel still looks good and let you move around a lot more comfortably as needed.
Vacation/ Theme Park Outing:
A romper is a great way to look put together with ease. Plus if there is any water involved in your day they are usually light enough that you will not end up walking around feeling soggy for long.
Work Wear :
We want to be seen as professional during our work day but in reality when we leave our professional day behind it often runs straight into the next family activity. A good structured pair of pants and classy top can offer you comfort and the professionalism you desire. Pair them with loafers or a classic pair of boots for all day comfort to take you from your work day into whatever your evening holds for you.
Girls Day Out:
A day out shopping or at the vineyards with your friends is always a good time. It's a fun reason to pull out that cute dress you have been waiting to wear. If you are going to be on your feet for the day pair it with a cute pair of loafers, flats, or sneakers for a comfortable but trendy look.
Date Night:
This is your time to shine mamma, wear that dress and pair of shoes that make you feel great. Its important to remember who you are as an individual. Besides who doesn't love a dinner occasionally where you aren't sharing your food and nothing is being spilled on you unless you do it yourself.
Hopefully this helps you when you need a little outfit inspiration for your day! What are some of your favorite go to looks? Drop them in the comments, I would love to hear!

A few of my feel good fashion picks.
In conclusion yes fashion can make you feel good. Make your wardrobe a feel good zone for you with a mixture of formal and casual attire that you feel confident in. When is a time in your life fashion has made you feel good?
Wondering what items are worth your splurge and which ones you should save on?
I rounded up a few suggestions to use as a guideline as to when to splurge and when to save to look like a million without spending it.
A splurge should never be a reckless impulse purchase that leaves you financially regretting your decision. I encourage you to think about a splurge beforehand. Buy fewer things of higher quality that fit your style as you can afford them. Your personal style tends to change over time as it is so take your time building your dream wardrobe. A great piece is an investment so always make sure to care for it properly after your purchase.
The same goes for an item you save on. Just because you like the price tag doesn't mean you should buy it. Anything you bring into your wardrobe should reflect your style and work with what you have. A wardrobe full of pieces you bought because you like the price and not the item is going to leave you feeling chaotic and create visual stress. Plus it's money that could have went towards a piece you loved.
When to splurge :
* Splurge one neutral colors. EG black, gray, white, brown, cream, tan, navy
* Splurge on basic pieces. These pieces will form the basics of many outfits. EG well made dresses, pants, and tops that flatter you.
* Splurge on well made shoes and boots. The classics that you will wear year in and out are worth the splurge as you spend alot of time in them.
*Splurge on quality bags. A classic bag is going to last you for years when treated right. While it is a splurge read on for tips to also save on it.
When to save :
* Save on quality handbags. We all love a good designer bag but not that price tag so much. While this is a splurge you can also save on it by shopping resale. Some things to look for when purchasing a designer bag resell is a reputable seller. You do not want to end up not getting what you think you paid for. When in doubt there are authentication companies that can guarantee you are getting the real deal for $20. My personal favorite is Authenticate First. Be sure the seller has many clear pictures of the condition of the bag so there are no surprises.
* Save on trends. Trends are fun but they come and go quickly. EG trendy jeans, pieces in the seasons colors
*Save on bright colors or bold patterns. We tend to tire of them quickly
* Save on casual trendy footwear.
